MMA NEWS in CHINA
Top of the Forbidden City - - TFC-1 -- World Combat Championship Transitioning to Become Number One in Combat Sports
Story by 石龙
There is a relatively new MMA organization in China called: "Beijing Bokesen Sports Culture Development Co. Ltd. (BKS)." Since that story was published, August 1st, this organization has been putting on monthly MMA events in Beijing - specifically in the Shougang Basketball Center Gymnasium. Thus, this organization is growing and a few additional comments should be recorded.
There are a variety of reasons why this organization and location are developing so nicely. One is that the Chinese government has a policy of developing culturally based industry, and fighting is definately a big part of Chinese history and culture. Also, the Beijing Municipal government has
targeted the Shou Gang area in Western Beijing's Shijingshan district for development.
The gym there - the "World Combat Competition and Entertainment Center" is huge and provides comprehensive service and training in Chinese and world martial arts, Boxing, Taekowndo, Karate, Wu Shu, Judo, Wrestling, free Kickboxing, Muay Thai and MMA. All in all it's an amazing organization. They seek to promote Wushu Culture to domestic and international audiences.
TFC-1 is similar to MMA in that they combine standing and ground fighting using kicks, punching, wrestling/grappling to win. A victory in
this area will earn the victor a title, such as: "The King of Almighty Styles," "The Ring Master," or "Champion." People from all styles are welcome to join
this colorful new organization.
Consultants with this new organization include Fu Shengzhu, Vice Governor of the ShiJingShan District, Shou Jinbiao, Director of 3rd Competition & Training Department of Wushu Administration Center of China, and Li Guicheng, President of Beijing Shishahai Sports school, & Director of Wushu Administration Center in Beijing. With backers like this, it would appear to be well grounded with solid support. The President of the Organizing Committee for TFC-1 is Chen Chunhe, Director of Beijing Wushu Academy.
Thier most recent event was held Saturday October 22, 2011. Previous events were held in July, August and September.
In addition to national and international combat entertainment, they also have a large variety show every month, and fashion rock every week. Organizers are committed to seeing the Shijingshan sport inductrial area become a vibrant part of the new PRC industry and economics - a new shining star of world sport and culture.

My Opinion... Black Tiger Gym is the best place to train for MMA in Beijing... (The club is beautiful... their site doesn't do it justice!) As I understand it they also have a good UFC hookup there...
